Is it free to send files over 500 MB?
People assume 500 MB means they have to pay. Not with SendGB. The free limit is 5 GB. This size is one-tenth of that. It’s already far beyond email limits, though. Gmail rejects attachments over 25 MB, and Outlook rejects them over approximately 20 MB.
An interview, an event recording, or a catalog with many images can reach this size. Include two of them and the total exceeds 1 GB. That’s still free.

Reducing an interview’s file size vs. sending it
Editing means shortening a video or adjusting its colors. You do that. We don’t. Reducing a 500 MB file to 25 MB to fit an email attachment means delivering a different video.

How do several files add up to more than 500 MB?
A 400 MB video on its own is free to send. Add a catalog and images, and the total reaches 1 GB. That’s still within 5 GB. Don’t split them across separate links.

These are not guaranteed amounts. Duration and resolution affect file size. What matters is your files’ total size, not email’s 25 MB limit.
When do charges start?
Not at 500 MB. Not at 2 GB, either. Charges start when the total exceeds 5 GB. At that point, don’t split the file into two free transfers. We don’t reassemble the parts.

What happens to your file?
- Video and PDF files are not recompressed. No separate 1080p copy is created.
- The transfer is free even if the total exceeds 1 GB, as long as it does not exceed 5 GB.

Frequently asked questions
How many GB is 500 MB?
Half a GB. That’s one-tenth of the free 5 GB limit. No sign-up is needed. For email, though, it’s twenty times the limit. Gmail cuts off at 25 MB.
Do you convert videos to 1080p?
No. We don’t change the resolution. If you upload 1080p, it downloads in 1080p. If you upload 4K, it downloads in 4K. You need to create any short preview clip yourself. We don’t create one.
Can I view a large catalog on the download page?
A PDF can open on the download page. Very large PDF files may load slowly in a browser. We don’t split the file into pages. PPTX and Word files do not open.
Should I split the file in two to send it for free?
There’s no need. 500 MB is already within the free transfer limit. If you split it, the recipient has to use two links. We don’t reassemble the parts.
Will my footage folder structure stay intact?
Folder names are preserved when the entire transfer is downloaded. Files are not recompressed. Clicking a single clip does not recreate the folder structure. See the folder guide for details.

Can a chat app send a 500 MB video?
Some apps trim videos; others compress them. Don’t use a chat copy of an interview meant for editing. The link lets the recipient download the MP4 you uploaded.
Is 2 GB free, too?

Does a download notification mean the video was watched?
No. If you enter your email address, you receive a notification when the download starts. With email delivery, you are notified once per recipient. With link delivery, you are notified once per transfer. This notification does not confirm that the video was watched to the end.
Does the cover photo download separately?
If you include it in the same transfer, it downloads with the other files. We don’t insert the cover into the video. A JPG can appear on the download page. The entire MP4 does not play on the page like a movie. Creating a short preview is a separate task.
