File hosting is the process of copying or moving a file from one computer to another via an internet connection. It enables sharing, sending, or transferring a file or logical data object between different users remotely.

File Hosting

Sometimes you may need to send very large files to someone, but your regular email account may not be able to handle such large file sizes. This is where cloud storage services can help. But instead of using a service like DropBox or Google Drive — which requires you to log in, upload the file, and then share it — you can take the fast, no-frills route by using SendGB.

How Does SendGB Work?

SendGB is file sharing in the simplest way possible. It works as if your email account could handle those large file sizes — you enter your email address and the recipient's email address, add a message, attach the file, and send. That's it. With the basic (and free) SendGB service, you don't need to create an account. You can upload files as large as 5 GB, which should be more than enough to send many high-resolution photos, several decent-sized videos, and just about anything else. The recipient receives an email with a link to download the file, and — voila! — you've just sent a massive file that would otherwise have blocked your email service provider.

How to Receive Files from SendGB

If your colleague has sent you a file via SendGB, you can be completely at ease: downloading a file through this service is as simple as drinking a glass of water. Don't believe me? Then follow the instructions I'm about to give you, and you'll see that you'll change your mind.

Receiving an email from SendGB means that the file is ready for download. In the body of the email, the sender's email address, the number of files sent, and their expiration date will be displayed. A little further down, any custom message that the sender may have written will also be shown.

To download the received file, you need to press the Download Files button in the email you received. The indicated link leads to the official SendGB website: wait for the file to be properly loaded from the server and press the Download button to save it.

Once the download is complete, a dialog box will open on your computer and you can choose where to save the file.

Has a link to a transferred file been sent to you directly and you need to download it? No problem. All you have to do is copy the web address provided into the address bar of the browser you use for browsing the internet. Then press the Enter key on your computer keyboard to be taken to the SendGB website and download the file.

After downloading the file from the SendGB server, you can press the Download button to save it.

Also in this case, once the download is complete, a dialog box will open on your computer and you can choose where to save the file. See how easy file hosting with SendGB is?
