Some files are too large for email, cloud drives and most free transfer services. A full video project, a disk image or a company backup can easily be hundreds of gigabytes.

In short: You can send up to 5 GB for free with SendGB. For a single transfer of up to 1 TB, use SendGB Exceed. It is a one-time option, and you do not need a membership or an account.

Why very large files are hard to send

When a file is 100 GB or larger, the usual methods often stop working.

MethodWhat goes wrong
EmailEmail services accept only small attachments.
Cloud driveYou need an account and enough free storage. The recipient may need access rights.
Free transfer servicesMost free plans have a size limit far below 1 TB.
Drive by postIt is slow, and the drive can be lost or damaged.
Long uploadsThe connection can drop before the upload finishes.

How SendGB handles files up to 1 TB

  • SendGB Exceed. You can send up to 1 TB in a single transfer. You pay once, and you do not need a membership.
  • Resumable uploads. If your connection drops, the upload continues from where it stopped. It does not start again from zero.
  • Any file type. You can send files and folders in any format. SendGB does not recompress your files.

Choose the right option for your file size

Not every large file needs 1 TB. Use this table to find the option that fits your transfer.

Tips for a smooth upload

A 1 TB upload takes time. In ideal conditions, the upload time is about:

  • 100 Mbit/s upload speed: about 22 hours
  • 500 Mbit/s upload speed: about 4.5 hours
  • 1 Gbit/s upload speed: about 2.2 hours

To avoid problems, use a wired connection if you can. Also stop your computer from going to sleep during the upload.
